Chili

I don't have some super cool name for this. Maybe I need to brainstorm one. But I finally came up with my own perfect chili. As it turns out, I'm picky about it. I want it to have a lot of substance but I don't want it too much like soup. So here it is, after dozens of attempts, my perfect ratio.

Food. Bright and delicious food.
Chili

2 lbs ground beef or turkey
1 can ( approx 15oz) diced tomatoes
1 can chili beans (or red beans)
1 can black beans, rinsed
1 large onion, diced
4 pieces of celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups water
Approx 15 oz tomato sauce
1 package chili seasoning (I used to make my own and gave up because Alid's 50 cent packages tasted better)
1 butternut squash, peeled and chopped

Brown meat, drain.
Add meat and garlic. Cook for one minute.
Add everything else and let simmer for about an hour, or until squash is cooked through.

Or you can put it all in the crockpot after the meat has browned on low for as long as you want.

I know. Super directional and specific. But I love it.

Nom.
